Cabbage Pakora/Fritters

Everyone love have a cup of coffee with some hot snacks. Here is a delicious hot snack that can be prepared very easily at home.

We are quite used to preparing Onion pakoras. I tried the same with shredded cabbage. It tasted better and more crispy. Try this recipe and drop your comments below.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh cabbage – 1 cup (shredded)
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp (hot)
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Gram flour/Besan flour – 2 tbsp
  • Rice flour – 1tbsp
  • water – for mixing
  • oil – for deep frying

How to Prepare Cabbage Pakoras/Fritters:

  1. In a mixing bowl add Gram flour, Rice flour red chilli powder, curry leaves and salt and mix well.
  2. Add the shredded cabbage to the bowl and mix well.
  3. Keep adding water to the flour bowl and mix well to until you get the right consistency. The batter consistency should be thick.
  4. Pull out small amount of batter and drop that in the hot boiling oil.
  5. Fill the frying pan with the pakoras and leave some space to avoid sticking the pakoras one with another.
  6. When the pakoras came out on to the top of the oil turn the flame to simmer and fry well.
  7. Once it is fried transfer the pakoras on to the tissue.
  8. Do follow the same procedure for the remaining batter and fry them in batches.
  9. Transfer the fritters from the tissue on to a serving plate.
  10. Serve one batch of hot crispy cabbage Pakoras with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
